Debi's Interview on Blog Radio April 2010
Debi Dunn is interviewed by Lynn Serafin
Author, Transformation Coach and book promotion coach Lynn Serafin hosts holistic healer and qigong master, Debi Dunn. After having survived brain surgery for a benign tumour, in 2001, Debi decided to rededicate her life to be a healing presence for others. A Reiki Master , she started her own business, The Heart of Healing, and became certified in yoga, Qigong, T'ai Chi, and Meditation. Debi also teaches her own brand of Qi Flow Dancing and Turbo T'ai Chi. She enjoys seeing the health improvements in her students especially those with fibromyalgia, cancer, MS, arthritis, and back pain. On tonight’s programme, Debi will show us how you can energize your mind, body and spirit through a daily practice of Qigong. An ancient movement therapy, sort of a “Chinese yoga”, Qigong can be performed by anyone, any where, any fitness level. It is great for balance, strength, flexibility, stress relief and emotional rebalancing. Debi is the creator of the Qigong for Everyone DVD series, 1) Basic Movements and 2) Designing Your Own Practice, as well as the Tranquil Journeys meditation CD.

Qi It Up…With An Old Exercise For A New You!
The Heart of Healing Qigong Article Debi discovered qigong about ten years ago. She was searching for a slower-paced movement therapy following a successful brain surgery that would include gentle movements, relaxation and breath work. She discovered qigong, a 5000 year old energy exercise meaning, “working with your vital life force”. It is the foundation of both t’ai chi and kung fu. Qigong emphasizes the importance of one’s internal health, while conventional exercises, performed in a fitness center, focus on outside physical conditioning. Her personal routine includes standard fitness exercises, biking, Chi Walking, qigong, t’ai chi, and meditation.read more

Advancing Mindfulness in a Twittering World
The Heart of Healing Mindfulness article I admit that I am the last person who should be writing anything about technology. Many of us seasoned psychologists have been catapulted into an electronic age that spawns fear and ambivalence. While I value the capabilities of word processing, computerized test scoring, email, and, yes, even Wikis, I have not been convinced that social networking is worth all the aggravation. I have a website and a profile on LinkedIn. What more could I need? read more

10 Reasons to try Qigong!
The Heart of Healing Newsletter June/July 2010 I discovered qigong and t'ai chi about ten years ago quite by accident. I was searching for a slower-paced movement therapy following a successful brain surgery that would include gentle movement, relaxation and breathing exercises for body/mind/spirit. I had heard about t'ai chi, meaning the "Great Ultimate", and took a local class. I found it to be quite challenging as T'ai Chi is a gentle, slow-moving exercise which has a precise number of steps performed in a specific order. I found it to be an ideal form of exercise for me. read more
